Summary

The tragic mass shooting in Midtown Manhattan that claimed the lives of a police officer and four civilians has once again exposed the grim reality of lone-wolf, grievance-driven violence. With the shooter acting alone, armed with an assault rifle, and able to bypass layers of security to reach a high-profile corporate location, this attack underscores the evolving challenge for law enforcement and security professionals alike.

This live web panel discussion will bring together law enforcement leaders, behavioral threat experts, and corporate security professionals to dissect the patterns behind recent lone-wolf shootings—from Manhattan to Nashville to Half Moon Bay. The conversation will explore the critical warning signs, the gaps in prevention, and what realistic countermeasures organizations can take to address these unpredictable and devastating incidents.

Attendees will gain insight into the difficult intersection of assault weapons, personal grievance, and workplace or symbolic targeting—and what proactive steps can be taken to build resilience in soft and hard targets alike.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand the behavioral patterns and pathways of lone-wolf and grievance shooters
