Cybersecurity Advisor
Rahul Mittal currently serves as the Cybersecurity Advisor for Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia in Region 3 with DHS CISA. In this role, he proactively engages private and public sector members to strengthen the resiliency of the nation's critical infrastructure and protect it from cyberattacks.
Mittal has previously held positions at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) for the House of Representatives. He has served as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity topics, including risk management, incident response, cybersecurity analysis, and cyber policy. At HHS, he served as Branch Chief for the Office of the Secretary (OS) Cybersecurity Customer Engagement and Compliance Support and as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR).
Mittal holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication and a Master of Business Administration. His professional industry certifications include Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Certified Network Defense Architect (CNDA).
