Irving, TX – May 24, 2023 – Mark Pekovitch, who has spent the last 18 years bringing best-in-class products and services to the access hardware industry, is the new ALWIN and Alkey Solutions Product Manager for ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions – Critical Infrastructure (AAGS-CI). Working from the Chicago area, he reports to managing director Jerry Burhans.

Adding Pekovitch is the next phase in conjunction with the acquisition of ALCEA by ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in August 2022. Among his responsibilities will be to work with the team at the CLIQ Competence Center in Texas.

“I’m excited to work with the ALCEA team and bring their product line to life here in the U.S. Working and collaborating with some of the brightest people in the industry who are associated with one of the largest security companies in the world is a dream come true,” acknowledged Pekovitch.

“I have a vast working knowledge of many ASSA ABLOY product lines in the physical hardware space,” he continued. “I’m looking forward to building my awareness of their software and electronics packages, including the ALWIN and Alkey product lines. My ability to use analytics to research market trends and overcome challenges will be an asset and help successfully grow these products.”

Pekovitch joins AAGS-CI after working at Eberhard Manufacturing – formerly Illinois Lock – for 13 years, the last four as Product Engineer/Manager. He interacted with customer design teams worldwide to solve their access solutions, and designed continuous improvement programs that increased efficiencies. He also supervised and mentored designers with DFM, NPI and project management principals to achieve team goals.

He was promoted to that position after serving as a Product Design Engineer. Previously he worked as a Design Engineer at Liquid Controls in the aviation and truck and transfer industry.

“Over the course of my career, my skill set and competencies have established me as a reliable solution provider for access and security hardware challenges,” he said. “This includes solutions to meet different needs, from simple cam locks and padlock applications to more advanced options such as high security triple-bitted locks and electro-mechanical integrations for controlling multiple access points. By joining the team, I hope to build a stronger and more sustainable critical infrastructure group.”

Pekovitch and his wife, Julie, have been married for 20 years and have a daughter in college and a son in high school. During free time, they enjoy the outdoors including water sports activities. He can be reached via email: [email protected].
