July 19, 2013
Small form factor ideal for standalone ATMs and other space-constrained environments

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, July 18, 2013 — March Networks, a supplier of video surveillance systems to banks and credit unions in the Americas, is pleased to introduce the newest addition to its next-generation financial solution. The four-channel 8704 S Hybrid Network Video Recorder (NVR), available now for order, delivers the same exceptional reliability, centralized management and crystal-clear image quality available with the company’s eight, 16 and 32-channel 8000 Series recorders. Measuring just 3.2 x 8.3 x 5.0 in (8.1 x 21.2 x 12.6 cm) and able to record at 30 frames per second on all four channels, the compact NVR is ideal for installation in standalone ATMs and smaller banking branches seeking real-time video recording for enhanced security and fraud detection.

The 8704 S addresses a distinct need in the marketplace for a high-performance, small-footprint video recorder that saves managers, fraud investigators and security staff time and effort by providing remote access to high-quality video evidence from any networked location. A central component of a complete March Networks financial solution, the NVR is compatible with both the company’s browser-based Command Enterprise and powerful Visual Intelligence video management software. In addition, it supports March Networks Searchlight™ – an innovative suite of video intelligence applications that enable banks to proactively detect fraudulent activity and gather stronger case evidence through centralized searches that correlate video, transaction information, facial images and license plate data.

Designed to scale with a financial institution’s current and future needs, the 8704 S can record up to four analog cameras, four high-definition IP cameras or any hybrid combination, and offers up to 2 TB of internal storage. In addition, an industry-first QR code on the front of the recorder works in conjunction with March Networks’ free GURU smartphone application to speed installation and maintenance, saving technicians time and reducing service costs.

“This newest hybrid recording platform is the perfect solution to address the fast-growing ATM market and help financial institutions detect and cut losses from ATM skimming and other fraud more effectively,” said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks. “With the availability of the 8704 S, we serve our customers across their entire organization – including commercial offices, banking branches and ATM locations – with our recently launched next-generation financial solution.”

More than 450 financial institutions worldwide use March Networks financial solution for security, fraud detection and operational efficiency.
