MySurveillix verifies operation of video cameras and recorders

IRVINE, CA, MAY 2, 2017 -- Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products Group, a business unit of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., is adding the cloud-based MySurveillix health monitoring application to its Surveillix Web Services (SWS) suite as a value-added benefit to customers who use SWS to pilot the company's Percept Network Video Recorders.

Focused on the core monitoring requirements of end-users, MySurveillix automatically verifies the health of IP video cameras and Percept NVRs enterprise-wide in a single, easy-to-manage solution that can be viewed on a PC or mobile device. By providing critical alerts in the form of an email or text if the status changes, MySurveillix empowers end-users to access the system and troubleshoot the problem before a future security event occurs.

The Percept Platform

The Percept NVR platform records locally while leveraging the benefits of cloud-based services. Models are available for enterprise-class, mid-sized and small businesses. The NVRs combine superior value with the convenience of accessing live and saved video clips securely from the cloud.

Surveillix Web Services provides the setup, operation, and management of Percept video surveillance recorders. With features such as single sign-on, video clip archiving to the cloud, and online user and recorder management, SWS is a cutting-edge advancement in the installation and on-going management of network video recording systems. A flexible solution, SWS seamlessly functions with all Percept models, as well as several other Toshiba NVRs.

Key benefits of SWS to end-users include:

  • Virtual elimination of software client installation and upgrades
  • Simplified user permissions management
  • Greatly improved remote connectivity by leveraging a single universal sign-on
  • Greatly improved ability to export and share a video clip.

User Peace-of-Mind
Beyond supporting the verification of recorders and cameras, MySurveillix compiles reports on the overall health of the system that can be distributed daily, weekly or monthly, and include thumbnail images from every camera on the network captured both during the day and night. These dual images help organizations verify cameras are recording the intended monitored area, and that certain functions, such as IR illumination, are operating properly. A Recording Duration function not only gives a visual representation of the Percept recorder's video retention capabilities, it allows the end-user to set a recording threshold and to send a programming alert notification when this threshold is not being met.

As a technology leader, Toshiba continues to bring to market video surveillance solutions that set trends and meet customer demands for today and tomorrow. For more information, visit www.toshibasecurity.com
