Open Architecture Electronics

The new Schlage AD-Series electronic locks from Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies provides options to customize the access control solution, quickly migrate to future needs and provide seamless integration, now and later, at a lower cost of ownership. The modular, open architecture AD-Series lets users customize door openings with options such as credential reader type, networking, finish and levers to create a perfect fit. As their business needs change, upgrades can be as simple as interchanging a module.

Programmable Keypad

The SDC 917 standalone keypad from Security Door Controls is designed for 120 users.  Each user PIN code may be programmed to actuate 1 relay output and up to 4 voltage outputs. Each output is individually programmable for momentary, timed or latching operation. Other features include automatic time-out, REX input and duress or forced entry output. Voltage input 12/24V AC/DC.

Visonic Ltd. released its PowerMax®Express control panel. PowerMax Express incorporates all the reliability and features homeowners and professional installers demand. This small new panel – unique among its size class - has a standard built-in PSTN communicator and offers the flexibility to add internal, field-upgradeable GSM/GPRS communication module.

Napco Security Technologies’s new indoor/outdoor biometric keypad integrates with most brands of alarm panels or can be used for standalone alarm and garage door access control. The Gemini BioReader works with all Gemini and Express security systems and operates electric garage doors and lighting systems. With the touch of a finger, users can arm/disarm the system and/or activate relay groups and never have to worry again about losing their keys or memorizing complicated codes.

Field Upgradeable: Take it Up a Notch

Used in private, public and government facilities around the world, Continental Access Field Upgradeable Legacy Panels support access control functions for one to four doors. Smarterm, Miniterm and Microterm as they are called, store multiple card (bit) formats in their internal memory to allow current cardholders/readers to remain in working order. Smarterm, Miniterm and Microterm industry standard controllers accept Wiegand output devices and support proximity, biometric, magnetic stripe, barcode, Wiegand, barium ferrite, keypad and smart reader technologies. Multiple ports can connect to our server for maximum system expansion while multi-stage lightning/transient protection provides reliability in severe atmospheric conditions.

Next Generation Lighting Control

Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., released RadioRA2 a next generation control system that provides control of lights, shades, audiovisual devices and temperature at the touch of a button. RadioRA2 features include main repeater with astronomic time clock, RS-232 and IP integration built-in; seeTouch® hybrid keypad-dimmer for retrofit applications; wireless PicoTM Control; Powr SavrTM occupancy/vacancy sensors; and native system support of GRAFIK Eye® QS lighting control and Sivoia® QS shading solutions, no interfaces required.

Upgrade to H.264

Bosch Security Systems Inc. announced the company’s entire portfolio of IP cameras, including the Dinion IP pictured, is now available with ONVIF-ready H.264 compression technology. The IP cameras deliver high-resolution video with reduced bandwidth and storage consumption – resulting in storage costs that are up to 30 percent less than systems that use traditional MPEG-4 encoding. Customers with installed Bosch IP cameras can download Firmware 4.0 to upgrade to H.264.
