New Products from SD&I's Dec. 2009 issue

A look at the month's new products, with a special focus on thermal, infrared and day-night cameras

Elite Matrix System
Centronics Inc. launched the Elite HD-branded HSMX Series 4x4 HDMI matrix system for HDMI over Category 5e or Category 6e. The EHD-branded HSMX-CB and HSMX-WP comes with IR extenders, discrete IR remote controls, and four HDMI to Cat5e/6 converters via stand only boxes (HSMX-CB) or wall plates (HSMX-WP).

30,000 User Access Controller
The AC-525 Multi-Door Access Controller with Digital Video Server from Rosslare Security uses edge DVR technology and features on-board local USB 2.0-based storage. The AC-525 panel supports two analog camera inputs and two voice channels for high quality audio/video recording and streaming and is compatible with MPEG-4, synchronized with real time access control data.

Green Energy Made Easy
ESOLAR series kits from Econ Electronics can power a gate operator, telephone entry system or access control. A basic solar package includes a solar panel with adjustable bracket, battery, power regulator, circuit breakers and battery box with mounting hardware. Eight preassembled kits come in 12 or 24 Volts DC from 60W to 320W.

Network Video Recording
Crest's CNVS-SVR Series NVRs are compatible with many standard and megapixel cameras sold in the U.S., including Axis, ACTi, Apro, Arecont, Excore and Vivotek, in addition to Crest's own lineup. Crest's NVRs record and view up to 32 video streams simultaneously and allow listen in and recorded audio.

Versatility Built in with PoE Splitter
A 21W power over Ethernet splitter from Phihong, the POE21-240 yields 24V at 0.875A to power security cameras, wireless network access points, IP telephones and IP print servers. The Gigabit-compatible splitter divides the power and data and converts the PoE source to a regulated DC power source. It is designed to be mounted adjacent to an Ethernet device and specified to IEEE 802.3af standards.

Fire Security over Power Line
Signalink Technologies launched Fire-Link II, a UL-listed power line-networked system that activates audible and visible alarms inside apartments in buildings that do not have in-suite alarms. When the main fire alarm system is activated, a loud audible alarm and a bright LED visual warning light (strobe) are simultaneously activated on the in-suite Fire-Link alarm device.

Affordable Video Wall
IndigoVision released Video Wall software that allows professional fully-featured IP-CCTV control room video walls to be built to any size, at a fraction of the cost of other dedicated displays. Based on Control Center, the company's security management software, video walls can be constructed with complete scalability using any PC monitor type (CRT, LCD and plasma), with standard or high-definition widescreen format.

On the UPS and UPS
Para Systems Inc. made two new additions to the Minuteman EnSpire series of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). The new EN750 and EN900 (shown) provide energy savings through two design features. When the internal battery is fully charged, the charger goes into "rest mode." Units are designed to operate at over 90 percent efficiency while in AC normal mode.

UPS Solution in Weatherproof & Snug Enclosure
Adding to its line of ReServ Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions, Altronix released a new outdoor model to its product portfolio. Housed in a NEMA-rated weather-resistant enclosure, the new ReServ1WP provides seamless 12VDC and 24VAC for outdoor cameras during normal, brownout and power fail conditions. The unit features eight true sine wave-regulated 24VAC outputs and four regulated 12VDC outputs.

'Bus' Driver Control
As the control panel in the overall RISCO Bus solution, ProSYS.FreeCom provides an integrated security system meeting high security requirements as well as dual-path communications. It allows for multiple signals to travel along a single cable path and addressable devices (alarm sensors) to recognize their appropriate signals. The system operates from a touch screen user interface.

Enterprise Management Product
Ionit's Enterprise Management Solution, set for release in 2010, enables the enterprise customer large and small with multiple sites/users who each have various administrative, operational, and investigative roles, access to networked Ionit recording platforms and to view or program them as required. Ionit's Optimized H.264 AVC on DSP solution affords file sizes less than 25 percent of leading MPEG4 and baseline H.264 products.
