Access control, locks and biometrics

Cisco Ecosystem Provider-MorphoTrak's MorphoAccess biometric readers are now available as an integral component of Cisco's IP-based access control system. MorphoTrak's MorphoAccess range of biometric access control devices-from the rugged outdoor OMA520 for harsh conditions to -40 degrees Fahrenheit to the J-Series reader-provide a versatile front-end smart reader.

Controller Support-The Continental Super-Two from Continental Access is an expandable intelligent access control panel system capable of supporting all access control functions for one or two doors, while its counterpart, Turbo Superterm-8, controls functions for one to eight doors. These distributed processor-based controllers operate as a standalone unit if communications with the server are interrupted.

Biometric Software-IProNet SmartFace, an innovative biometric facial recognition software from Ipronet Sistemas, allows real-time identification of persons seeking access to facilities requiring comprehensive access control. The application can recognize faces on earlier recordings, storing captured images. Visit 109.

Integrated Video/Access Control-IndigoVision updated its Gallagher (previously Cardax) integration module to allow video to be viewed within Gallagher FT Command Centre, the access control manufacturer's central management tool. Live video, which is streamed across the IP network, can be viewed by selecting specific camera feeds or in response to an event or alarm.

HID-Compatible-Secura Key's RKDT dual technology proximity readers and standalone products include: the RKDT-WM weatherproof mullion reader with standard SIA Wiegand output; the RKDT-SA-M standalone mullion reader which controls up to 65,000 cards; and the RKDT-SA-M standalone unit, programmed with the RK-HHP passive hand-held programmer.

Indoor/Outdoor Readers-The Schlage HandKey II from Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies supports multiple credentials, including proximity, magnetic strip, bar code, iClass and MIFARE. It features a field-installable Ethernet module, outdoor enclosure options and field-upgradeable and expandable memory options to support from 512 to 240,000 users.

Multispectral Imaging Capable-Lumidigm Mercury sensors use multispectral imaging and return high-contrast 500 dpi fingerprint images in real world environments, using USB and RS-232 connectivity. The series is capable of multiple modes of operation including image output, template output, verification (1:1) and identification (1:N). The 1:N feature is fully interoperable with 1:1 ANSI 378 standard templates.

Hinged Swing Doors for ICU-The Dura-Care Series 7400 Swing Door System from Stanley Access Technologies (part of Stanley Security Solutions) features a heavy-duty continuous hinge with a built-in concealed closer with 105 degree "hold-open" on active panel. At the top of the door is a flush bolt on the inactive panel.
