May 5, 2008

STAFFORD, Va. , May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- QinetiQ North America has been awarded a contract with a potential value of $9M under the Commercial Enterprise Omnibus Support Services (CEOSS) Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services (MCEITS) contract. The base-plus-2 option year task order has a total value of over $9M, if all options are exercised. The contract was awarded in support of Marine Corps Systems Command's Information Systems and Infrastructure Product Group, Computing Platforms and Services.

The MCEITS program is a core capability within the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Command and Control (MAGTF C2) Framework and System of Systems. MCEITS enables access to enterprise information and facilitates collaboration across the Marine Corps' Business and Warfighter Domains through an information technology (IT) infrastructure that integrates application, service, and data environments. The MCEITS IT infrastructure can quickly and easily adapt to evolving software, hardware, data, services and management requirements while it facilitates greater reuse of IT assets.

This new effort gives QinetiQ North America the opportunity to help the Marine Corps architect, develop, and implement the Marine Corps' information technology application, service, and data environments. "We're delighted to continue our support of the Marine Corps," says Anthony Cordaro , MCEITS Program Manager with QinetiQ North America. "Our previous task order was recompeted early because it broke the scope-growth threshold. We think that's a testimony to the solid work our people have been doing for the Corps. We'll now be providing program management, acquisition and logistics support in addition to the engineering services we've been delivering for more than two years."

The QinetiQ North America MCEITS Team has experience with the design, setup, integration, and operations of both enterprise-class data centers and tactical combat operations centers. Specifically, QinetiQ North America MCEITS practitioners have an unusual range of capabilities and qualifications: large-scale IT infrastructures, the Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) and ISO 20000 processes and operations, Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Architectures, Information Assurance Products, JCIDS Processes, Requirements Management, DoD 5000.2, Net-centric Operations and Warfare, Global Information Grid (GIG), Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) and Net-centric Enterprise Services (NCES).
