April 14, 2008

CAMP FALLUJAH, Iraq , April 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Additional shipments of Defenshield Mobile Defensive Fighting Positions (MDFPs) are on their way to support U.S. Marine operations in Iraq and Afghanistan . There are now over 500 MDFPs deployed in the Middle East , protecting soldiers in the war effort.

Hassle-free processing through GSA Advantage! allowed the Joint Contracting Command Iraq/ Afghanistan to issue a one-click order and receive the in-stock DS-192 units a minimal lead time of less than three weeks.

Marine combat engineers are using Defenshield MDFP's along side earth-filled HESCO barriers and plywood construction to fortify entry control points. The MDFP's provide excellent visibility of approaching threats while still maintaining the highest level protection available in a mobile, stand-alone device. Units currently in use by the Marines have ATV-style tires which allow the MDFP's to be easily reconfigured for optimal positioning.

The Defenshield product line is available through the GSA Schedule (GS-07F-5660P) to all federal agencies and to state, local, and municipal law enforcement under the Justice Department 1122 program. Additional funding is available through the DHS Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP).
