Minnesota-Based Goodrich Business Is Key Supplier to Airbus A380 Superjumbo Jet

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Airbus A380 superjumbo passenger jet, scheduled to land at the Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP) airport today, is equipped with a number of critical systems produced by Goodrich Corporation's (NYSE: GR) Sensors and Integrated Systems (SIS) unit based in Burnsville, Minn. The A380's arrival at MSP is part of a larger tour to promote sales of the aircraft.

Products provided by SIS for the A380 include the multi-function SmartProbe(TM) primary air data system, standby air data systems, ice detection systems, heated floor panels, primary flight control motor drive electronics, and hydraulic system heat exchanger temperature sensors. The company also provides a sensor suite for the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine, and digital electronic control pressure sensors for both the Trent 900 and Engine Alliance GP7200 engines.

Goodrich worldwide produces numerous significant systems and components used throughout the A380. According to Airbus, producer of the superjumbo jetliner, more than 189 A380s are on order or committed for more than 16 customers worldwide.
