WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Thursday, September 27, 2007 and in recognition of National Preparedness Month, the American Red Cross of the National Capital Area in partnership with the Homeland Security & Defense Business Council will host a Partners in Preparedness Symposium to provide an interactive, hands-on discussion for businesses in the National Capital Region (NCR) on how to better prepare for, respond to and recover from the impacts of natural and man-made disasters.
In conjunction with this event, The Homeland Security & Defense Business Council will release a thought leadership study titled Corporate Responsibility: Why Businesses Should Be Prepared in a World of Uncertainty. The study looks at industry's role in partnering with federal, state and local governments to help protect and secure America's homeland.
Guest speakers include: The Honorable Frank Keating , former Governor of Oklahoma and President and CEO of American Council of Life Insurers, Darrell Darnell , Director of the District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency and Greg Pellegrino , Chairman of the Homeland Security & Defense Business Council, Global Managing Director of Deloitte's Global Public Sector and James C.
