WASHINGTON, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Environment Agency -- Abu Dhabi (EAD) is teaming up with the International Council for Life Sciences (ICLS), based in Washington DC , USA, to organize Biosafety and Biosecurity International Conference 2007: A Seminar for Life Science and Policy Communities in the Gulf and MENA region from November 12-14, 2007 at the Hilton Hotel in Abu Dhabi , United Arab Emirates .
The conference will convene experts from around the world to discuss enhancing public health, safety and security against biological risks.
"We need to build a global network between governments, international organizations, universities and private companies associated with the life sciences. Through this network, we can develop and share best practices in research and activities," said Majid Al Mansouri , Secretary General of EAD.
The conference will feature presentations on best practices, standards and training in biosafety and biosecurity and success stories for national and trans-national disease surveillance networks. Special attention will be paid to identifying priority areas for the Gulf and MENA region and developing an action plan for future work.

The conference is being held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates .
Established in 1996 and formerly known as the Environmental Research and Wildlife Development Agency, EAD's aim is to reduce industry's impact on the environment, conserve the Emirate's natural resources, improve wildlife habitats and promote environmental awareness.
