ANAHEIM , Calif., March 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NextPhase Wireless, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: NPHS), a nationwide developer of WiMAX-ready networks and provider of advanced wireless broadband solutions, today announced that it has completed the installation of the wireless broadband network contracted in mid-2007 by the Irvine Police Department (IPD) in Irvine, California.
Operating on the new wireless 4.9 GHz spectrum designated by the FCC for public safety, emergency management and homeland security applications, IPD's new wireless broadband network will be primarily used to transmit voice, video and data from mobile and fixed radio communications systems, IP surveillance cameras and the Internet both to and from the Department's new state-of-the- art Mobile Command and Communications Vehicle. NextPhase will continue to support the network and manage wireless connectivity services for the agency.
Due in large part to the IPD's technology savvy and adoption of cutting edge, crime-fighting tools and technologies, Irvine has earned distinction as the "Safest City in America" three years running (2005, 2006 and 2007) according to statistics reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In addition to consistently ranking low in violent crime, Irvine is ranked high among great places to live, work and raise a family.
Tom Hemingway , Chairman and COO of NextPhase, noted, "We are very proud to list the IPD among the growing number of local government agencies, businesses, and public schools that are coming to rely on NextPhase for deploying wireless network infrastructure and for delivering leading edge wireless broadband products, services and solutions uniquely suited to their respective needs and applications."
