The Security Industry Association (SIA) is sponsoring a presentation by the writers of FIPS-201 and NIST Special Publications 800-37, 800-73, and 800-76 on June 20, 2005 in Arlington, Va. As mandated by HSPD-12, the federal government must roll out PIV-1 compliant systems for both logical and physical access by October 2005.
This presentation is tailored to physical access control and will explain how the new requirements will be expected to be implemented for electronic and physical access control systems. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will be on hand to answer questions. The U.S. Department of Commerce primary contact for physical electronic security will be in attendance at the presentation.
