Rob Traister was appointed manager of Communications for the Security Industry Association (SIA), Alexandria, Va. His primary responsibilities include handling media and public relations, developing and editing SIA's daily e-mail publication and writing columns and articles on behalf of the association. He also writes copy for the SIA Website, marketing materials and other communications.
Traister has more than 20 years of experience in publishing and marketing, and more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector. From 2005 to 2011 he ran RT Squared LLC, a publishing and marketing consulting business specializing in working with the nonprofit sector. Before that he was the Director of Publishing for BoardSource (formerly the National Center for Nonprofit Boards) and the Manager of Print and On-line Products at NAFSA: Association of International Educators.
He is native of Front Royal, Va., and a graduate of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va.
