Many people in the industry develop egos and attitudes over time, which Oatman says can blind security professionals to threats that could potentially place their clients in jeopardy. To avoid succumbing to the sin of pride, Oatman advises those in the industry to be open to criticism, know that things can go wrong in any given scenario and to acknowledge mistakes when they are made.
