ASIS kicks off even before exhibit time

ASIS seems to stretch the entire week and today, Monday, there are tons of really cool events to get the show started, even before the 25,000 scheduled attendees hit the show floor tomorrow.

OnSSI has slated a tour of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium and the DallasPoliceFusionCenter, where its software has been installed for video management of the dozens of cameras keeping watch over the city streets.

ADT announced that Dallas based small business HyperGraphic Impressions was awarded a $12 million contract to produce millions of yard signs for ADT customers. ADT, a Tyco International company, said it selected HyperGraphic Impressions “because of its commitment to delivering a high quality product at a competitive price,” said Don Boerema, ADT North American Chief Marketing Officer. The bright blue and white octagon-shaped yard signs will come off the assembly line at a rate of 8,000 per day.

In addition, ADT unveiled ADT Pulse, an interactive solution which integrates home controls and security with consumers’ personal lifestyles. Borema commented that the company expects the roll out of the additional services to lead to additional hiring in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Tonight, media will get a sneak peek at new color night vision cameras from FLIR Systems Inc. The color thermal imaging cameras, called Color Night Vision, have already won a 2010 ASIS Accolades Award. FLIR’s specialized EMCCD technology gives security professionals a single camera that has the power to capture clear, high quality color video in full sunlight, starlight and everything in-between; without auxiliary lighting.

If you are at the show, be sure to visit the Cygnus Security Media booth, 2947, to pick up magazines from SD&I, Security Technology Executive and Locksmith Ledger.
