Stampeding through ISC West

March 25, 2010

Yesterday a herd of wild horses escaped from a ranch near San Diego and, as thier name would suggest, ran wild through the streets from more than two hours until police could corral them. While there have not been any horse sightings on the show floor at ISC West (yet), when the doors opened at 10 a.m. yesterday, a huge throng of visitors kicked off what looks like will be a successful three-day look at the best the security industry has to offer.

Has an economic recovery come to the security industry? By most eyeball accounts, attendance is up at the show. According to show officials, there are nearly 900 exhibiting booths, up from last year's 800 or so. There just seems to be a certain buzz in the air as you walk the floor -- more excitement coming both from exhibitors and attandees than was at the last few big industry shows.

Most of us have felt the pinch in some way over the last 18 months...so it's nice to see some positive signs coming from this industry.
