The Army's 2.3 gigapixel surveillance camera goal

Yep, that's a lot of pixels. The idea from the Army is that the proposed 2.3 gigapixel camera could be mounted on planes or drones, and capture images covering a 40 square kilometers! It would have enough resolution at that distance to identify persons on foot

With that much data, it requires a hefty data connection, and they're planning for 274 Mbit/s -- don't you wish your installs had that much bandwidth? If so, everyone would be doing IP cameras...
