ESA bestowed its highest honors during ESX -- Weinstock and Jackson awards

Even before the show floor ribbon dropped ESX 2012 began recognizing those in the industry who go above and beyond their job titles to assist with industry endeavors. (Exhibits open today, Wednesday, June 27.)

The industry’s two most prestigious awards—the 2011 Morris F. Weinstock Person of the Year and the 2012 Sara E. Jackson Memorial Award were bestowed last night. Dan Budinoff, president of Security Specialists in Stamford, Conn., received the Weinstock award for his tireless support of the Electronic Security Association (ESA) for more than 35 years. Budinoff was instrumental in the establishment of the National Training School and has held numerous leadership and committee roles both locally and nationally. Most recently, in 2012, Budinoff was appointed to the Security America Risk Retention Group board of directors as a Class C representative. The award was sponsored by Interlogix.

The Sara E. Jackson Memorial Award was presented to Bob McVeigh, vice president and general manager of Security Solutions Inc., Norwalk, Conn. McVeigh has chaired the Industry Affairs committee of ESA since 2008. The award was sponsored by Honeywell.
