NORTHFORD, Conn., Nov. 20, 2013 - Silent Knight by Honeywell today introduced a single detector that senses both fire and carbon monoxide (CO) and greatly reduces nuisance alarms. The SK-FIRE-CO Detector minimizes parts and labor, equaling big cost reductions. It is also the only non-proprietary, addressable detector of its kind to be made readily available through Security Equipment Distributors nationwide, which ensures competitive pricing and readily available parts.
The 5820XL-EVS from Silent Knight is an intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel combined with an Emergency Voice System (EVS). When the EVS features are enabled, they are integrated with the fire alarm and voice evacuation functions of the control panel. The 5820XL-EVS panel and accessories provide features to meet the requirements for Mass Notification Systems as described in UL 2572.
The SK-FIRE-CO is a plug-in, addressable detector, combining fire and CO sensing into one unit for a low-cost solution that reduces nuisance alarms while meeting the nationwide call for increased CO detection.
The Farenhyt ECS (Emergency Communications System) line from Silent Knight by Honeywell provides fire protection and a system for broadcasting real-time communications within a facility. Integrating mass notification capabilities with fire alarm technology results in an all-in-one system that is easy-to-use, cost-effective and benefits from the stringent requirements placed on fire alarm systems. The system meets NFPA 72, UL 2572 and Department of Defense (DoD) standards. Control panels include customizable switches for as many as 15 pre-recorded messages and a microphone for live paging — all simple-to-use technology which enables users to direct general or emergency communications to all or select areas of a facility. As many as seven ECS-RCUs (Remote Command Units) can be conveniently placed throughout a facility to provide a quick means for live paging to specific areas.
Capable of supporting up to 72 telephone connections with as many as 10 phones in use at one time makes the IFP-FFT one of the industry's largest-capacity fire fighter communications systems. To reduce expenses and simplify installation, Silent Knight designed the Farenhyt IFP-FFT system to operate on a single loop of standard wire. This high-capacity, lower-cost system is ideal for high-rise buildings and large facilities in regions that require fire fighter telephone systems.
The Farenhyt IFP-NET-3 displays detailed, floor-by-floor layouts of protected facilities and their fire alarm systems. As many as 200 Farenhyt and Silent Knight fire alarms can be tied together using an existing Ethernet - no extra fiber or wire required - which allows multiple sites in a large geographic area to be monitored from one location.
The SK-FFT (Silent Knight Fire Fighter Telephone) offers as many as 48 supervised, remote audio connections and is one of the only non-proprietary systems of its type available over-the-counter through wholesale distribution. To reduce costs and simplify installation, Silent Knight designed the SK-FFT system to operate on a single loop of any standard wire and included its patented JumpStart auto-programming utility for straightforward system setup. The SK-FFT provides installers an ideal upgrade to offer their existing customers or include in new systems designs.
The SKST (Silent Knight Selection Tool) software application designed for fire alarm dealers to easily configure a bill of materials for any IntelliKnight addressable or conventional fire alarm system Silent Knight currently offers through wholesale distributors.
Silent Knight by Honeywell has developed a 25-point fire alarm offering all the high-tech benefits of addressable technology at the cost of a conventional system. The IntelliKnight 5600 fire alarm control panel and compatible HFS devices is designed for applications where two- to five-zone conventional fire alarm systems have historically been installed. The addressable features of the unit include pinpoint identification of alarm/trouble locations and false alarm prevention via detector drift compensation and automatic maintenance alerts. Installation time-savers such as easy code-wheel addressed detectors, a "JumpStart" programming feature and a built-in programming browser to eliminate custom software requirements simplify the process of commissioning an addressable system. The unit supports any combination of addressable HFS detectors and modules that are conventionally priced and runs on only a single loop of standard wire (not shielded or twisted pair), offering additional cost-savings.
Silent Knight by Honeywell has released a 125-watt amplifier, designed to economically simplify fire alarm voice evacuation system design. The VIP-125 amplifier can be mounted up to 6,000 feet away from any compatible Silent Knight VIP Series of fire alarm control panels for reduced speaker circuit wire runs. Used to push audio communications to speakers throughout mid- to large-scale fire alarm voice evacuation systems, the amplifier is ideal for campuses, expansive buildings and high-rise applications. The self-contained unit comes equipped with a built-in power supply, battery-backup connection and four speaker circuits. An optional circuit splitter card is available to easily double each unit's speaker circuits to eight.
