CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla.-- SecureXperts and BCDVideo are developing a cyber-secure trusted platform of high-performance servers, workstations, and operating systems for electronic physical security systems.

Named the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) series, the platforms are optimized for high-performance in surveillance video storage applications, and provide essential cyber security functions that are especially important for high assurance life safety, national defense, homeland security, critical infrastructure, medical, financial, and regulated commercial environments.

BCDVideo Security-Hardened Platforms

Using these high-performing platforms in physical security and video surveillance deployments, security integrators can provide truly hardened systems. A key safeguard of the platform is the replacement of vulnerable username-and-password authentication with smart-card-based authentication that binds the user to the platform using dual- or multi-factor authentication. This eliminates a common system vulnerability that is a key entry point utilized in most security system cyberattacks. Smart cards are provided with the platform.

The standards-based design also allows existing smart cards to be used that are compliant with federal standards.

Physical security systems built on the BCDVideo TPM series platform provide strong system cyber protection capabilities that have previously not been available for traditional commercial electronic physical security systems. The platform systems can be hardened to Commercial Baseline Standards or Federal Baseline Standards.

Darnell Washington, President/CEO of SecureXperts, states, “Most physical security systems integrators implement operating system patches and application upgrades, which are file fixes. Much more is needed to protect these systems. Once a hacker gains administrative rights on a computer network or security system, they can take over the kingdom, and even launch attacks against other networks—as we have seen reported in news accounts.”

Perry Levine, Director of Strategic Alliances for BCDVideo, says, “Our TPM series will distinguish us from any other solution available today, not just for video surveillance, but for any application needing a high level of assurance. Our relationship with SecureXperts brings their market-sector expertise to our TPM series, which is both vendor and product agnostic, and provides third-party validation and assurance of quality in all of our TPM products and solutions.”
