No injuries reported, incident under investigation

GREENWOOD, Miss. --

State Sen. David Jordan said neither he nor his wife were injured Thursday night when someone fired shots that hit their home and cars.

Greenwood police were investigating the drive-by shooting, which happened about midnight. Bullets went through Jordan's den window, the trunk of his car and hit his wife's car, police said.

Jordan said he was awake at the time of the shooting, and said he heard the gunshots, but thought they were further down the street. When he awoke on Friday morning, he realized that his home had been shot into.

Jordan, a Democrat, is running for re-election. He said that during the last election in 2007, a shot came through the door to his den. He said it only happens during an election year, but he is not afraid and will continue to stand for what he believes in.

Police said the shooting was under investigation.
