FALLS CHURCH, Va. - January 6, 2009 - FOSE 2009, the most comprehensive event for government information technology (IT) professionals, today announced its keynote lineup. New York Times bestselling author of "The Long Tail" and editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine, Chris Anderson; Executive Vice President of Hewlett-Packard's (HP) Technology Solutions Group (TSG), Ann Livermore; and former Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Louis Freehwill headline the two-day conference portion of FOSE 2009.
Scheduled for March 10-12, 2009 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, FOSE 2009 is the largest trade show designed for government technology professionals. After 35 years, FOSE 2009 is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees and feature more than 400 exhibitors, as well as offer a conference and tutorial program and free professional education sessions on a wide array of important federal IT initiatives such as green computing, web 2.0, health IT, and security.

Speaker Background: Ann Livermore leads HP's TSG, an approximately $41B business, serving HP's business customers of all sizes in more than 170 countries. TSG encompasses storage and servers, as well as software and services. She joined HP in 1982 and held a variety of management positions in marketing, sales, and R&D before being elected corporate vice president in 1985. Livermore holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University.
Louis Freeh, former director of the FBI (1993-2001) will recount his experiences with high-profile criminal cases from the most secure depths of Washington, in addition to his expertise confronting the security/privacy issues facing today's complex world. Date: Thursday, March 12, 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
Speaker Background: Heralded for transforming the FBI from a national law-enforcement agency to a global-security institution, Louis Freeh held the position of FBI Director from September 1993 to June 2001. Freeh's best-selling book, "My FBI: Bringing Down the Mafia, Investigating Bill Clinton, and Fighting the War on Terror," chronicles his efforts to reform, fortify, and strengthen the bureau while ensuring its freedom from political interference. An expert on corporate governance and financial disclosure (including the Sarbanes Oxley Act), his private-sector resume includes a stint as general counsel with MBNA.
