Axis Communications' network cameras increase market share

Company’s network cams now reportedly make up 33.5 percent of the market

According to a recent report from IMS Research, it is estimated that Axis Communications’ global market share for network cameras increased in 2008 to 33.5 percent, up 1.5 percent from the previous year.

The IMS Research report, "The World Market for CCTV & Video Surveillance Equipment," also found that Axis had increases its position from eighth to sixth in the world in the category of vendors providing surveillance equipment. As far as being a provider of security cameras, both analog and network, the report puts Axis at number three in the world.

"The IMS report once again confirms our strong position as global market leader, where we have further strengthened our position on the network video market; a market with continued positive long-term growth potential," Axis Communications President Ray Mauritsson said in a prepared statement.
