Glenn Waehner tapped to lead security solutions manufacturer

Security and video surveillance manufacturer Acuity Systems announced Monday that industry veteran Glenn Waehner has been named as its new president and CEO.

The former president of American Dynamics, Waehner brings a wealth of security industry experience to his new position and is expected to help the company usher in the next generation of surveillance technology.

"The security system market is undergoing a major transition from analog to digital network technology. The early adopters missed critical performance and feature needs, resulting in disappointed customers," Waehner said in a prepared statement. "Acuity has the time-proven knowledge and experience to create a third-generation hybrid system architecture that delivers the needed system performance and integrates new features and analytic tools seamlessly into mid-range to enterprise-class systems."

Waehner holds a degree in electrical engineering and in physics from John Hopkins University, as well as degrees in electrical engineering from New York University.
