A Knoxville, Tenn., hotel developer paid $2.49 million for 13.2 acres on Michael Boulevard and West I-65 Service Road South and plans to build a Hilton brand Homewood Suites, according to Nancy Stone of White-Spunner & Associates, who represented the local sellers. Dawn Klosterman and Tommy Cox of Guarantee Title Co. handled the closing.

Houston investors paid $1.9 million for 16.36 acres on Alabama 158 in Saraland and plan to build 240 upscale apartment units, according to M.J. Baxter of Baxter & Associates, who represented the sellers. Bonita York of Realty Executives in Gulf Shores worked for the buyers. White-Spunner Construction is the contractor for the project near the Catfish Junction restaurant.

Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union, based in Pensacola, paid $420,000 for a 1-acre lot in front of the new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Brewton, according to Jay O'Brien of J.L. O'Brien & Associates. There are two front parcels available for sale, he said.

Driven Engineering paid $350,000 for a 6,000-square-foot warehouse on Morris Hill Road in Schillinger Industrial Commercial Park in Semmes, according to Tina Gaston Davis of Harmony Realty & Development. The building was owned by Schwan's Home Service, she said.

The developers of Harmony Corners Plaza at Snow and Nursery roads in Semmes completed a 10,500-square-foot second building, and the tenants opening this month include Beehive Salon & Day Spa; Semmes Laundry & Dry Cleaning; Community Storage; Harmony Realty and Mark Davis Construction, according to Davis of Harmony Realty, who worked for the landlord. Joey McCullough of McCullough Realty represented the tenants.

The owner of Dominick's Seafood in Bayou La Batre purchased property formerly owned by Gulf City Seafoods at 14366 Shell Belt Road in Bayou La Batre, for $400,000, according to court records.

Bellasia Nail & Spa Salon leased 1,200 square feet of space in University Square on Old Shell Road, according to John M. Delchamps of Merrill P. Thomas Co.

REMAX Advantage has moved to a 2000-square-foot office at 9786 Timber Circle in Daphne, across from the Eastern Shore Centre on Alabama 181 in Spanish Fort, according to Lisa Brooks, owner and office manager of the agency.

A waterfront home on Ono Island in Orange Beach sold for $880,000 and a three-bedroom, three-bath furnished Gulf-front condominium unit at The Enclave in Orange Beach sold for $385,000 at an absolute auction this past week, according to William Bone of The National Auction Group, based in Gadsden. The auction drew 22 bidders, mostly from out-of-town, he said. One investor owned all of the properties. He also sold two home sites on Fort Morgan at absolute auction, for $88,000 and $82,500.

A local physician paid $926,000 for a three-bedroom house on 1˝ lots in Country Club Estates off Wilkinson Way in Spring Hill, according to court records.
