Dawn Klosterman and Tommy Cox of Guarantee Title Co. handled the closing.
Houston investors paid $1.9 million for 16.36 acres on Alabama 158 in Saraland and plan to build 240 upscale apartment units, according to M.J. Baxter of Baxter & Associates, who represented the sellers. Bonita York of Realty Executives in Gulf Shores worked for the buyers. The auction drew 22 bidders, mostly from out-of-town, he said. One investor owned all of the properties. He also sold two home sites on Fort Morgan at absolute auction, for $88,000 and $82,500.
