The National Association for School Resource Officers announced last week that is has begun accepting nominations for the 2009 Wren Solutions School Resource Officer Scholarship Award. Wren, an Atlanta-based provider of video management solutions, announced earlier this year that it would be establishing the award and pledged a sum of $10,000 over the next four years.
All nominations must be turned in to NASRO by April 15, 2009, to be eligible. Applicants must also be a current member of NASRO and enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field approved by the scholarship committee, according to a statement issued by the association.
The winner of the $2,500 award will be announced at the non-profit’s annual conference to be held next summer in Baltimore, Md.
