Acquisition to allow for integration of companies’ solutions

Johnson Controls, which unveiled plans to increase its share in the systems integration market at ASIS 2008, announced Monday that it has acquired St. Louis-based software manufacturer Gridlogix.

The acquisition paves the way for the integration between Gridlogix’s EnNet software platform, which interfaces building management systems with IT systems, and Johnson Control’s Metasys building management system, that provides facility managers with enhanced alarm response, monitoring and reporting capabilities.

"This is a natural integration of two companies who know that energy efficiency and sustainability are key business drivers for customers," said John Daniel, executive vice president of business development for Gridlogix in a prepared statement. "We look forward to seeing our solutions integrated into the Johnson Controls product family to serve and to bring greater benefits to customers the world over."

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
