Installers integrate new and old solutions to update venue’s fire detection system

Bosch Security Systems was recently chosen to help one of the most renowned music venues in all of Europe renovate its fire detection system.

The Auditorio Nacional de Musica, or National Music Auditorium, located in Madrid, Spain, selected the manufacturer’s 5000 series panel, along with several 420 Series smoke and fire detection units to provide the historic music venue with the solutions it needed to keep concert goers safe.

In a press release issued by Bosch concerning the installation, one of challenges that they faced in implementing the new system was keeping existing detectors, while at the same time, integrating them with more conventional solutions that were needed for the project. With the use of some conventional zone modules, however, installers were able to integrate the older detectors into the new panel, giving the concert hall a comprehensive fire detection solution.

According to its Web site, the auditorium, which opened in 1988, plays host to the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir and can seat more than 3,000 spectators combined in its two concert halls.
