An alert bank employee is being credited with thwarting an apparent robbery in Tulsa, authorities said.

The employee saw three masked men get out of a black car in the parking lot of the BancFirst in south Tulsa about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, police Sgt. Dave Walker said.

The employee alerted other employees, and they locked the lobby's interior door.

The men turned and ran back to the car and then drove away. No guns were seen.

The car was described as a faded black Acura, possibly an early '90s model. One of the men appeared to be wearing a fedora-style white-cloth hat, authorities said.
