GE Security Names New CEO

Dean Seavers steps in from SimplexGrinnell

If you're looking for the face of GE Security, you'll need to remember a name you may know well already: Dean Seavers. Seavers, who had previously been president of Tyco-owned integration services firm SimplexGrinnell, has joined the GE fold, replacing Louis Parker.

Parker will be staying with GE in a position "leading strategic initiatives". “Dean is well respected in the industry and has a proven record of success in driving growth,” said GE Enterprise solutions president/CEO Charlene Begley. “His industry knowledge, coupled with his strong background in leading high performing teams, will be a great asset as we continue to invest in our Security business.” While Seavers may be best known from the Tyco family (he joined ADT in 2000 and has led SimplexGrinnell since 2004), his management background extends to the world of quick-service food and drink, including KFC/PepsiCo, Burger King and European food and spirits company Allied Domecq. Seavers will be based in Bradenton, at GE Security's corporate office and will report to Lloyd Trotter, president and CEO of GE Industrial and GE Vice Chairman.
