Company plans acquisition of camera maker, compression technology company

On Tuesday, China Security & Surveillance Technology, a manufacturer of surveillance system components, announced its intention to acquire not one but two companies in the security arena. The first of the companies would be Shenzhen Hongtianzhi Electronics Co., a top Chinese manufacturer of security cameras. Hongtianzhi is expected to have revenues approaching $12 million this year.

Also on the to-be-acquired list is HighEasy Electronic Technology. The company's most noted project is its compression technologies that enable video over data networks. China Security & Surveillance Technology expects to use the company’s compression technology in its own DVR systems.

China Security & Surveillance is expecting to pay $10 million for HiEasy, and $30 million for Hongtianzhi. Both deals will be a mixture of cash and stock.
