Synergx subsidiary Casey Systems, an integration firm specializing in communications and security, has landed a big fish.

The company announced on Wednesday that Casey Systems had been selected for an initial $400,000 purchase order to design, develop and implement a video surveillance system for New York City's Transit Authority (NYCTA).

According to an announcement from Synergx, the system will be used at some 32 stations designated by the Transit Authority, and is being funded as part of a security, communications and upgrade project. The system is focused on the stations themselves. Casey Systems is calling the proposed designed a "next-generation" type of system, and notes that it uses product from a variety of security and communications manufacturers.

The company previously installed a prototype of the system at the NYCTA 231st Street station in the Bronx.
