Acquisitions links IP-based home controls company with ELAN's dealer network

ELAN Home Systems, Lexington, Ky.-based firm providing high-end home controls and audio/video solutions, has acquired HomeLogic, a manufacturer of products in the same home automation and controls space. The value of the acquisition was not disclosed.

HomeLogic was noted for its IP-based solutions for home management, and the acquisition means that ELAN's dealers will now have access to the HomeLogic product line. Bob Farinelli, CTO for ELAN, said the move will also "accelerate product development for both companies."

Jim Herman, vice president and general manager at HomeLogic, said the acquisition was a good fit for his company because it allowed the company to stay focused on product development.

"We share ELAN’s belief that our products require a professional, properly trained Dealer network to succeed, and everyone at HomeLogic is excited to step it up to the next level as part of the ELAN family," said Herman.
