Acquisition gives Securitas added availability in LP/retail market

Securitas Systems announced today that it has acquired the integration firm Securex. Securex previously existed as the integratino, installation, service and monitoring provider for LP Innovations, a U.S.-based loss prevention and consulting firm.

LP Innovations, which formed in 1998, specializes in shrink reduction, offering audits, investigations, risk assessments, LP consulting, mystery shopping and exception based reporting. The company operates nationwide.

The cost for the Securex arm of LP Innovations was between 5 and 6 time EBITDA.

"Our strategy in the US is to increase the element of services," said Securitas Systems CEO Juan Vallejo. "By acquiring Securex's regional and national monitoring and service accounts, we reinforce that strategy."
