The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) has just become a little more national with the addition of the Kansas Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (KBFAA).
The Kansas association has joined the NBFAA as a state-chartered chapter, and members renewing in 2009 will have reciprocal membership in both the KBFAA and the NBFAA.
NBFAA President Mike Miller said the addition of Kansas to the national organization was a positive step for the industry.
"We're glad to have Kansas as a chapter," said Miller. "Their participation will make the association, and the industry, stronger. We welcome the vision, knowledge and fresh perspectives that the KBFAA leadership and members have to offer."
The NBFAA noted that anyone with questions about the transition of the KBFAA as a state-chartered association in the NBFAA is welcome to contact the NBFAA membership department at (888) 447-1689, ext. 205
The state of Kansas also has the competing Kansas Electronic Security Alliance (KESA) in addition to the KBFAA. On its website, the KBFAA lists KESA as a sister association. KESA is part of the National Electronic Security Alliance, which has chapters in five states: Texas, Arkansas, Maryland, Oklahoma and Kansas. Some of these states, like Kansas, also have NBFAA state-chartered chapters, such as the Arkansas Electronic Security and Fire Alarm Association.
