Dataline Announces Service Oriented Architecture - Real (SOA-R) Time Industry Consortium and Educational Series Success

July 31, 2008

MCLEAN, Va. , July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Dataline LLC is pleased to announce the success of the first event in the SOA-R education series held July 16th . The event drew participation from across the industry and government market space. Presenters included representatives from Google, IBM, Appistry, and Parabon. Attendees included representatives from The Boeing Company, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Booz Allen Hamilton , BAE Systems, Juniper Networks, SAIC, and many more. The event created the venue for an open forum, cross-industry discussion regarding cloud computing, SOA, and adoption and implementation by federal government and Department of Defense users. The focus of the event centered on defining cloud computing and what it means to government customers. The second event will be held on August 13th and will focus on Global Information Access. Invited speakers include Cisco, Amazon, and Akamai.

Throughout the SOA-R series, Dataline is bringing together the greatest minds in the industry to tackle the topic of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), cloud computing, and the net-centric end-state. Pulling together leaders in the industry will offer new and innovative solutions to old problems and legacy systems and serve to enable real-time information flow to the warfighter as the end-state of net-centricity rather than a focus on infrastructure. Understanding where industry is in the terms of technology development, becoming educated regarding their net-centric business plans, and applying best practices in government implementation would truly enhance the United States forces' ability to organize and access the information it needs.

The SOA-R series includes a total of six events including the first event held July 16th -- "What is Cloud Computing?" -- which is followed by "Global Information Access" to be held August 13th , "Increased Efficiency, Reduced Cost" to be held September 11th , "Event Driven Information" to be held October 8th , "Information Availability" to be held October 29th , and "Mission Relevance" to be held November 12th . The SOA-R series is co-sponsored by IBM, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Google, Cisco, and Great Circle Technologies. The series is being held at The Tower Club - Tysons Corner in Vienna, Virginia .
