Windy City Wire to Move HQ

Cabling and wiring company outgrowing existing space, takes new office near Chicago

Windy City Wire, a supplier of wiring for security systems and low-voltage projects, is moving, though not very far. The company currently has been headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Hillside, Ill., but in January will be moving to a location in Bolingbrook, just a little further south.

According to an announcement from Windy City Wire, the move is largely driven by space needs. The new location will encompass some 115,000 square feet, giving more room for inventory and for future growth.

The company is best known for its SmartWire low-voltage wire. The housing of the wire serves as tape measure, has an alphanumeric wire marking for wire identification and circuit continuity testing, and actually has text on the wire telling what it's suited for.
