Robert Douglas named new president and CEO at biometrics firm

Bioscrypt, a Canadian biometrics and access control firm, has a new CEO/president as of today. Robert Williams, the long-time chief for the firm has stepped down, effective immediately, though will remain with the company briefly to help transition to new CEO Robert Douglas.

Douglas brings a background from the IT technology arena, including a recent position as president of Psion Teklogix Americas. His IT background spans from wireless solutions to enterprise hardware offerings, and includes such companies as Siebel Systems, Oracle Corporation and Pivotal Corporation.

Bioscrypt, which acquired facial biometrics firm A4Vision last year, has made strong headway into both physical and logical access control. It's most recent product launch was the new version of its Verisoft Single Sign On, designed to aid computer/network access control.
