Acquisition of Columbus franchise allows direct operations in Cleveland, Akron, Toledo

Sonitrol Corporation (www.sonitrol.com) has made its way into Ohio with the acquisition of a franchise in Columbus, Ohio. The new franchise location will allow the company to begin operations in Akron, Cleveland and Toledo, and the company says it has plans to hire tech and sales staff for those cities.

Sonitrol Chairman and CEO Kevin Dowd said the Columbus location is a strategic position for the company.

"We view Columbus as a very important acquisition for Sonitrol because it allows us to build out our direct operations in Central and Northern Ohio,"said Dowd.

Sonitrol, a full-service electronic security and monitoring company, is best known for its audio verification of alarms, a technology that grew out of what the company did in the 1960s when it was founded as a business that used sensitive audio equipment to detect termites.
