Business and technology conference examines real-world usage of asset tracking, identification tools

CMP Media, a producer of the RFID World event, announced the debut of RFID Applications, a five-track, five-vertical business and technology conference in Washington DC.

CMP said the educational conference will focus on RFID and other advanced track-and-trace technologies, including RTLS (real-time location services) and sensor networks.

The tracks include Pharmaceutical Item Level Track & Trace; Hospital & Healthcare: Real-time Asset Tracking; Logistics: Security and Transport Visibility; Defense Systems: Compliance, Identification and Real-time Locating; and Enterprise Visibility: Asset & Inventory Tracking. CMP said the content-driven RFID event will address issues relating to improving ROI within a variety of industry sectors and producing a real-world application of RFID technology within the organizational infrastructure.

"Maximizing the benefits of RFID differs from company to company, industry to industry, application to application," said Timothy Downs, Vice President, Emerging Technology Events, CMP Media LLC. "This business technology event is designed to help executives understand how RFID can be applied successfully to their company and their unique requirements."

RFID Applications will feature panel sessions, case studies, experiential information and application building to help individuals pinpoint challenges and pain points of their operations.

Produced by CMP Media, and sponsored by RFID suppliers, including ThingMagic, RFID Applications will take place September 21-22, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Virginia, just outside Washington D.C. The event will include 40 exhibiting companies. CMP said that speaking applications are now being accepted.
