Company acquires technology assets of video design and manufacturer Unisor in defense space

Ioimage, an Israeli firm that was one of the early pioneers of the analytics-in-the-camera approach to video intelligence, announced today that it had acquired the assets of design and manufacturing firm Unisor.

Unisor has developed a number of products appropriate for defense and security, from hardened "black box" style recorders to video processing boards. The company's products are primarily used in commercial and military security applications.

Roni Kass, ioimage's CEO, said the acquisition helps the company by bringing in staff experienced in "R&D and end-to-end product design capabilities."

The acquisition notably adds a low-latency video encoder to ioimage's product line. The miniature encoder will be sold as part of what ioimage is calling the ioibox series of encoders.
