Zebra Technologies Announces Record Sales in Q2

Company sees growth as it diversifies and expands into overseas markets

Zebra Technologies reported second quarter financial results before the weekend, and the numbers made for a good weekend.

The high-tech printing company reported record sales for the quarter in the amount of approximately $187.7 million (net sales). Net income for the quarter was almost $25.5 million

The company credited record shipments as driving the quarterly profitability. According to Edward Kaplan, CEO of Zebra Technologies, the company is experience global expansion with significant sales growth in some regions. The company reported "notable growth in the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa region."

Kaplan also said that the company, which is known in the security industry for its card printing solutions, was reaching new markets for its products.

"We are capturing more opportunities in healthcare, route accounting, retail and other vertical market applications," said Kaplan, who indicated that the company's diversification and growth of its channel had helped drive sales.

The company also issued a report indicating that its third quarter may be much like its second. The company estimated that its third quarter net sales would be between $180 million and $190 million.
