MORE than $485,000 is to be spent on a security upgrade for Tennant Creek airport, NT Senator Nigel Scullion said yesterday.

The work will include security fencing and lighting, a CCTV system with movement sensors, locks and padlocks for gates, and a baggage cage.

The upgrade is part of the Federal Government's $35 million regional airport funding program, the senator said.
