Second acquisition in less than two weeks; Select grabs even larger Penn. footprint

Less than two weeks after completing the acquisition of another Pennsylvania security dealership, Select Security has completed the purchase of another former competitor. The company announced on Monday that it had purchased West Branch Security Systems, a Williamsport-based provider of security and Dynamark franchise.

West Brach Security Systems dates back to 1985 with owners Charles and Nancy Stearns (which sold off to Protection One) and was re-formed by Mike Drawbaugh in 1999 as West Branch Security Systems Ltd. after the Stearns sold their accounts.

Drawbaugh will stay on with Select Security as the Central Region Manager and the Williamsport office will stay open for installation, sales and service. The firm had focused on Lycoming County and seven nearby counties.

Select Security is based in Lancaster, Penn., and the move will mean West Branch's accounts will move to the CSAA 5 Diamond central monitoring station operated by Select Security. The firm recently purchased SecurityNet.
