Networked video surveillance and storage management system to be in NAV's toolkit

International security systems integration firm North American Video (NAV) will be partnering with videoNEXT, a Virginia-based developer of video management solutions. The videoNEXT Security Knowledge Manager (SKM), which works with network cameras as well as analog video technology, will be offered by NAV as part of its integration offerings.

According to videoNEXT's Chairman and Vice President of Business Development Chris Gettings, the SKM takes an IT-centric approach to surveillance video management and is designed to be scalable to large systems with "hundreds or thousands of cameras." Many of NAV's clients have traditionally been in the casino gaming market sector, and Gettings noted that the system provides workable solutions to casinos, which are heavy users of large-scale video surveillance solutions.

Cynthia Freschi, NAV's president, said her integration firm was impressed by "open architecture, ease of management, storage scalability and its flexibility to integrate with different camera vendors."
