Select Security Completes Acquisition of Hazleton-Based SecurityNet LLC

The security industry saw some consolidation in Pennsylvania this week as Select Security acquired and merged the assets of SecurityNet LLC. The move, said a spokesperson from Select Security, gives the company increased presence in Central Pennsylvania. Select is based in Lancaster, and SecurityNet operated out of Hazleton, Penn.

While the SecurityNet office will close, the employees will remain on board and will largely be moving to the Select Security office in Williamsport, a town about 70 miles from the former Hazleton offices of SecurityNet. SecurityNet was formerly known as Solid State Securities, and the company has a 20-year history of providing alarm services in Pennsylvania.

The firms have offered both residential and commercial security solutions, and the move will see all of SecurityNet's clients moved to Select's CSAA 5 Diamond Certified central monitoring station. Select Security brings 35-plus years of experience providing alarm and security services, and in addition to alarm systems and intrusion detection, the security dealership has expanded into digital video surveillance, access control systems and fire detection and notification systems.

Kimberly Mehalshick, owner of SecurityNet, said that in the acquisition process, the two firms were committed to ensuring that "the high quality of service you have come to expect from SecurityNet LLC will continue without interruption."
