Professional Security Training Network, Trinity Workplace Learning and ACSS develop new online security education program

American Commercial Security Services (ACSS), a wholly owned subsidiary of ABM Security Services, and Professional Security Training Network (PSTN) today announced a five-year agreement to provide ACSS security professionals with a cost effective, interactive learning system tailored to meet the critical training needs of today's security professionals.

Powered by PSTN and Trinity Workplace Learning, the online academy will include a customized training program designed by ACSS. As part of this agreement, PSTN will provide comprehensive professional security training content and services accessible via PRIMEnet, PSTN's complete online learning solution, as well as support and implementation services.

"This program is intended to provide our security professionals with valuable information that will prepare them not only for a successful security career, but with tools that will aid in their personal growth and development," said ACSS Executive Vice President Chris Hansen. "Our goal is to make this program as accessible and user-friendly as possible," he added.

The new interactive online and Desktop Video-on-Demand training divides this enhanced educational experience into two sections. The first section pertains to "the people side of the job" and emphasizes security professionalism, customer service and communication skills. The second half covers "the protection side of the job" and focuses on topics such as handling emergencies, fire prevention, on-the-job safety, patrolling, report writing and other general security duties. Additional advanced training topics and updates will be added as required.

Online training offers a convenient and cost effective method with minimal work schedule disruptions and the added benefit of allowing security officers to select the specialized courses tailored to their individual needs and the clients' requirements. Security officers will have the ability to log on to this system from any location with Internet capability, even from their homes. Officers successfully completing courses will earn certificates of achievement and other incentives. Another advantage of this training program is the ability to record and review, in real time, statistical data that can be utilized to best deploy existing personnel.

"We are extremely pleased to work with both ACSS and ABM Security to enable their online training initiatives," said Mark Vevera, vice president of marketing and product management for Trinity Workplace Learning. "This new partnership will help extend the reach of their instructional program and provide critical professional security training further into the workplace. The online academy will leverage the best content, learning management and support services we have to offer to ensure ACSS security professionals are well prepared to meet the challenges they currently face in the workplace," he added.
